This position is located in the National Records Center, Immigration Information Integrity Branch, Information Management Liaison Section. As an Immigration Services Analyst, in Information Management Liaison Section (IMLS) you will perform a wide variety of duties related to the analysis of immigration benefit and enforcement actions; including researching, interpreting, and applying immigration statuses, policies, and regulations to the processing of complex immigration action cases.

Duties

Review and analyze contents of Immigration Files; identifying documents needed to respond to inquiries from DHS Field Officers and Agents; protect PII and SPII from unauthorized disclosure. Make accurate and timely updates to national databases indicating the current file location and reflect immigration-related actions and biographical data documented in files. Recognize and correct problems in electronic systems to reflect actions documented in non-citizen Files. Take calls in Call Center environment, gather relevant information to provide accurate data to customers, verify caller authenticity; monitor, review, or facilitate analysis of workload ensuring cases are worked timely and in proper order. Prepare written responses to information requests using correct verbiage, grammar, and spelling; write synopses of complex cases in clear and concise language appropriate to the situation and the reader. Make accurate, timely updates to local databases tracking workload; maintain daily statistical reports; review work of others to ensure accurate, timely, and complete responses; provide training for team members individually or in groups.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/27/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/27/2024. GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Writing official correspondence and documentation for final use or publication. Reviewing and applying knowledge from regulations providing analyses to customers for use in making decisions; Working with USCIS databases and records and interpreting contents accurately and fully; Working with official records by reviewing and analyzing to assist with adjudication of cases; Working independently or as a member of a team leading others regarding a project, task, or case. OR You may substitute successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field related to the work of this position. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
