This position is located in Office of the Secretary, Office of the Executive Director, Executive Secretariat (S/ES-EX). S/ES-EX provides administrative and logistical support to the Secretary of State, the Deputy Secretary and Under Secretaries and coordinates the administrative and logistical support for all foreign and domestic travel.
You will serve as a Trip Coordinator executing policies and plans related to the Department’s logistical support for overseas travel of the Secretary of State
Duties
Directs the development of plans for all aspects of the Department's management of overseas and domestic visits of the Secretary of State.
Assesses the effectiveness of policies and procedures employed in the delivery of Department
management and logistical support of White House Support Missions and Economy Act travel involving the
Secretary of State.
Assists in the provision and reconciliation of Department funds in support of White House Support Missions and Economy Act travel of the Secretary of State.
Serves as a point of contact among the Executive Director's office, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary's office and other high ranking offices of the Department, other departments, agencies and private organizations.
Reviews important taskers requiring the personal attention of the Executive Director and staff; analyzes a wide variety of information and documents directed to the Secretary's office for clearance and endorsement.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience assisting with the coordination of and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of organizational management resources for the domestic and international travel of high ranking officials for major visits and events.
Experience applying analytical and evaluative methods to studies concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of program delivery.
Experience assisting with logistical support for trips and office support services (i.e., communications, travel, financial management, acquisition, property, personnel, customs, general services, scheduling etc.).
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
