This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA J6(GSVC)/J6 Endpoint & Global Services Directorate /J63.
Duties
Serves at the Directorate level in J6 - Endpoint and Customer Service as the J63 Chief of Operations and ensures full support of the 24-hour, 7-day a week operational mission of DISA J6.
Directs network assurance capabilities ensuring continuous defense in depth of the DoDIN and leads the day-to-day control and execution of the J6's C2 and situational awareness.
Assesses network incidents and implements procedures to restore communication services supporting Combatant Commanders, Military Departments Operation Centers, DoD, non-DoD Agencies, and Joint Staff.
Directs, develops, maintains, and implements standard processes in support of the operations mission area.
Develops new program initiatives to address emerging technologies with solutions that balance operational requirements and the mission.
Directs and oversees studies and analyses of operational changes which would have significant influence on the division or on the operational support provided.
Maintains extensive knowledge of the information systems, networks, services and requirements necessary to support the agency worldwide mission.
Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures, and architectures that establish the framework for the management of programs assigned to the division.

- Must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Completion of an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) confidential financial disclosure form 450 is required for this position.

Basic Requirements:
Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
Customer Service- developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solution.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:
Experience directing programs with technical authority over a range of information technology disciplines, systems, and applications; and contract management, and leading research, analysis and design over core areas including information technology warfare, emerging technology, strategic trends and policy.
