About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and daily childcare available. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center, (Mass transportation is available at minimal cost.)
Duties
Assists management officials in defining project scope, priority, and project staffing.
Advises management officials in the decision making process.
Facilitates Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Process Improvement (CPI), Value Engineering (VE) and Business Transformation (BT).
Provides assistance in areas of project management, team building, facilitation, process improvement analysis, and the methodology required to develop and substantiate a business case for selected projects.
Provides project statue reports as required which may include briefings to internal and external customers.
Facilitate and coordinate subject matter expertise in developing solutions and measuring the implementation of the recommend process to grow and sustain a continuous improvement in the culture throughout the Depot.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- The incumbent must possess an Army Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent.
- This position has a Data Analytics (DA) requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for DATACL2A - TACOM DA Level 2 Analyzer Certification Requirement within 24 months of being placed on the position.
- This is a Term position.
- A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.

Minimum Qualifications at the GS-07 grade level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent pay band which includes: which includes: Participating in the implementation of process improvement projects; Advising Lean Six Sigma (LSS) personnel on the status of quality improvement projects; Researching trends and developments associated with Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Assisting with the facilitation of process improvement projects.

Education: One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Minimum Qualifications at the GS-09 grade level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent pay band which includes: Assisting management implementing process, Advising managers on the status of quality improvement projects; Researching trends and developments associated with Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Assisting with analysis and facilitation of process improvement projects.

Education: A Master's degree or 2 full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Minimum Qualifications at the GS-11 grade level: One year of Specialized experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent pay band which includes: Assisting management with project staffing and development, Advising higher level managers on quality improvement projects, Keeping management informed of trends and developments in Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Independently analyzing, facilitating, and Providing recommendations for process improvement projects. a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or LL.M., if related.
