Duties

As a participant in the Pathways Internship Program, you will receive both formal and on-the-job training to develop the required knowledge and skill to successfully perform the duties of the position. Serve as trainee in contracting working closely with team leader and supervisor in a training capacity on assigned tasks. Observe and assist contract specialists to develop skills in contracting. Perform a variety of limited technical tasks designed to familiarize the incumbent with regulatory guidelines, terminology, procedures and techniques of the government.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or National
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree program in a qualifying educational institution.
  • Educational enrollment MUST be on a half-time or full-time basis. Half-time basis is defined by the academic institution that the student is enrolled or accepted into.
  • This position requires the selectee to sign a Pathways Participant Agreement.
  • Must be willing and able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the duration of the internship.
  • Maintain eligibility for the Pathways Internship Program.

Qualifications

This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-02, GS-03, or GS-04, with a career progression target grade of GS-09. If selected for a position a job offer will be made at the minimum salary level for the offered grade level. Management has the prerogative to select at any grade level. This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to target position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management. However promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of a promotion is implied. The minimum salary for grade GS-02 is $34,803.00, the maximum salary is $41,985.00 The minimum salary for grade GS-03 is $35,499.00, the maximum salary is $43,590.00. The minimum salary for grade GS-04 is $36,224.00, the maximum salary is $47,088.00. Pathways Interns qualify based on their educational achievements. GS-02: Completion of high school or GED diploma. GS-03: Completion of 1 full academic year of post-high school study. GS-04: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
