Duties
Provides administrative and technical support to Directorate leadership through a wide range of functions utilizing professional and technical skills
Develops, monitors and maintains databases related to the analysis, development, and implementation of various managerial projects
Researches, analyzes and extracts data from automated and hard-copy files to obtain required information and provide findings in replies to inquiries, data calls, reports and briefing material/presentations.
Reviews correspondence and action documents for the supervisor's signature, reviewing for procedural and grammatical accuracy, conformance with general policy, tone and factual correctness.
Creates format for forms, spreadsheets, charts, graphics, and other data displays, and chooses the proper vehicle for reporting required data.
Receives, screens, and sorts incoming correspondence, and maintains files for directorate.
Provides assistance to directorate personnel on operation of administrative software packages and equipment and assists with the preparation, editing, typing, and distribution of a variety of reports and correspondence.
Coordinates travel arrangements, meetings, and training.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Management Assistant, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to
successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at
the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent
under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements
including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum
qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable
specialized experience includes:
Reviewing and maintaining management information and statistics
Gathering and analyzing data, identifying problems and recommending solutions
Conducting limited, well defined studies of internal procedures to generate data and recommending
improvement
Administering a files management system to include both hard copy and electronic files
Composing correspondence on findings such as technical reports and research papers
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
