This position is located within the Cropping Systems and Water Quality Research Unit, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, Columbia, MO.
In this position, you will serve as the personal assistant to the Research Leader and other professional staff, coordinating a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks essential to the program administration of the Management Unit.
Duties
Serves as the primary administrative business process point of contact for the unit.
Participates in a variety of program planning support work, including research project coordination, budget coordination/tracking, purchasing/procurement of supplies and equipment, and human resources administration.
Uses in-house automated systems to enter and monitor administrative actions including agreements, personnel, travel, and research projects and reporting.
Maintains and utilizes electronic filing systems to ensure efficient document retrieval and electronic tracking tools for tracking leave, travel, meetings, and deliverables.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

GS-06
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-06 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience maintaining detailed records for an office environment; and answering phone calls or assisting visitors.
GS-07
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience preparing or tracking financial documents; maintaining detailed records or files; and participating in program planning support work including project coordination, travel, budget, or procurement of supplies and equipment.
Applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute.
