Duties
This position will support the Geriatric Extended Care (GEC) programs within Social Work Service, including Contract Nursing Home, Adult Day Health Care, Respite and Homemaker/Home Health Aide Programs. This position must possess a basic understanding of the organization and a multifaceted healthcare delivery system, invoicing, ), data base and spreadsheet management, right fax and analysis techniques. The incumbent is self-directed in the implementation and maintenance of performance management data tracking and reports. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Compiles, researches and analyzes service delivery, eligibility, and programmatic problems, issues or requirements such as preparing a variety of recurring reports related to GEC programming
- Processes and reconciles data as received from community facilities and organizations, updates all required reporting systems to reflect accurately
- Tracks authorizations for CNH/ADHC and if authorization is not completed within 24 hours works with finance for authorization completion
- Research all policies, procedures and other published documents as they pertain to GEC Programs participating in program calls and training as required at the local, VISN and National guidelines - Integrates several types of software to generate specific working documents and forms such as spreadsheet, data base, word processing, desktop publishing, graphics and other similar products. Selects appropriate system, application and format
- Supports the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) within Social Work Service
- Reviewing invoicing/billing functions of the annual budgets for Contract Nursing Home and Adult Day Healthcare Programs
- Primary point of contact for relationships with Homemaker/Home Health Aide vendors (currently on provider agreements), providing customer service to include technical support and training
- Assists with annual BOA and Technical Reviews for CNH/ADHC; compile needed information, schedule room, VANTs, etc. to assist with coordination of these reviews.
- Prepares programmatic reports, quarterly quality management summaries and reviews outgoing data reports
- Assist Social Work Service, programs and special projects with coordination of meetings, room scheduling, VANTS, etc. Assist the Caregiver Support Program with coordinator of support groups and Clinical Eligibility Team Meetings by scheduling room, VANTs, etc.
- Recorder for all committees that Social Work Service is responsible for to include but not limited to: Community Care Review Committee, Social Work Professional Practice Council, Social Work Staff Meeting, Social Work Quarterly meeting (BH/PS/PC) serves as the Service committee meeting Recorder following local policy.
- Maintains Chief calendar and schedules appointments and meetings, enters facility vehicle requests for CNH/ADHC Program, assists with completion of electronic travel requests and expense reports and coordinates logistics for conferences, as required
- Serves as the timekeeper for the Service and keeps track of employees leave and training
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education s described below:
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: work that may have involved collecting and tracking statistical information and data in support of an organizations program, knowledge of a variety of software applications and the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
