About the Position: Serves as a Casualty Assistant for the Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Branch for the Commander, Human Resources Command of Excellence (HRCoE). Performs a wide variety of personnel, administrative and clerical tasks associated with the requirements and procedures of DOD civilians, Active Army and Army Reserve personnel programs.

Duties

Screens the HRC Casualty mailbox to review and process casualty reports daily. Processes personnel forms and ensures a copy is uploaded to Soldier record databases Provides guidance on casualty procedures. Researches all reports of deceased Soldiers

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Working clerical, statistical, and data entry tasks in support of the administrative work of the office, using an automated data processing (ADP) system. Using ADP system commands to complete actions such as: create and delete files, search files and records, store or extract material from a variety of software packages to include word processing software, transmit large amounts of information, and general cumulative, statistical, tabular, narrative and graphic reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education

Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
