About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ USSOUTHCOM, Security and Intelligence Directorate, Miami, Florida.

Duties

Serves as an Intelligence Officer (Military Analysis) with responsibility for researching, preparing, and presenting all-source military capabilities intelligence products to inform decision-making. Applies a wide range of intelligence analytic skills, tradecraft best practices, and specific country or regional system, domain, and/or functional expertise. Supports the operational planning process. Conduct strategic all source analysis to create actionable intelligence products. Prepares capability studies and assess order of battle; force structure; disposition; military capabilities; key military leadership; military policies; plans, and doctrine. Assess civilian and military health systems capabilities and health care infrastructure.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5% of the time.
• This position is considered Key, and the essential nature of the position prohibits the position from being vacated during a national emergency or mobilization and cannot be filled by Ready Reservists or military retirees with recall obligations.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
