Duties
Responsible for the design, development, coordination and implementation of comprehensive public affairs communications campaign plans and marketing strategies that support USAFMCOM and Army policies, programs and initiatives.
Designs, coordinates, conducts, and evaluates supporting public information to include web based venues, and community relations programs.
Conducts extensive research required for development of these plans through analysis of the information environment, including public opinion and information needs assessments, media content analyses, and impact assessments.
Identifies, coordinates the design, development and production of command exhibit, print and multimedia products tailored to the specific needs of targeted audiences.
Writes press releases, media advisories and assorted public relations materials to promote specific events that bolster the reputation of the command and the Army.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S Citizen or National
- Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959)
- Suitable for federal employment
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination
- Department of the Army DA Civilians must successfully complete all mandatory Civilian Education System (CES) courses which may require travel.
Qualifications
Specialized experience for the GS-11 level is defined as :One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as assisting with written public relations materials (including news and feature stories, press releases, and fact sheets) and visual information (including photos, graphics and videos).
Specialized experience for the GS-12 level is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as producing written public relations materials (including news and feature stories, press releases, and fact sheets) and visual information (including photos, graphics and videos) that effectively communicate programs, policies and strategic plans.
Volunteer Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-11 Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GS-12 grade level.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement
