Duties
Advises senior level executives, client executives, and managers on alternative approaches to organizational communication issues as they relate to organizational programs.
Identifies areas of risk requiring a new or modified communication approaches to ensure consistency of delivered message.
Serves as an executive team member with regard to defining corporate communication strategies and framework based on DFAS mission, vision, as well as strategic goals and themes.
Engages appropriate communication resources to assist the organization in developing and delivering its message.
Works with customer service and contact center staff members to develop effective communication techniques and ensure the DFAS message is clear and understandable.

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: supporting a senior management team in collaboratively developing and implementing an organizational communication plan; identifying areas of risk and providing recommendations on alternative approaches to organizational communication issues; and evaluating the effectiveness of the methods used to communicate with targeted audiences.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
