About the Position: U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is the contracting element of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) and provides support to the Command headquarters and its worldwide network of laboratories and medical logistics organizations.

Duties

Facilitate the preparation and management of grants, cooperative agreements and other assistance efforts for research and development. Interpret and implement regulations, policies, procedures and funding announcements pertaining to the management of grants and other assistance efforts. Monitor Grantee’s expenditure of federal funds. Serve as a Grants Officer, mentoring personnel in the accomplishment of program goals and efficient work processes.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position requires a Tier 2 Non-Sensitive Moderate Risk personnel security investigation.
• Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).

Qualifications

Ft. Detrick is located in Frederick, MD, in the heart of Frederick County. It is located approximately an one hour drive from Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, MD, and adjoins Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
