About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Police Officer with command and control, responsibility for operational status of personnel assigned and who are involved in law enforcement, traffic control, investigations, force protection, communications and patrol activities.

Duties

Analyze reports or statistical data to identify trends. Maintain suspense folders pending disposition approval to ensure timely completion. Analyze difficult situations to determine an appropriate course of action. Apply integrity, courage, empathy, and compassion to sensitive situations. Assess employee performance to identify training needs. Conduct mandatory training for law enforcement and support personnel. Brief staff on new policies, changes in existing policies or other law enforcement related issues. Conduct community relations activities to support law enforcement initiatives. Develop policies and procedures from agency guidance. Prepare decisions papers to support a particular position on law enforcement issues.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Incumbent must successfully pass the Physical Agility Test as specified in AR 190-56. Incumbent must obtain a medical clearance IAW AR 190-56.
  • This position may require you to wear chemical protection equipment in accordance with Army regulation AR 50-6.
  • Incumbent must qualify and remain qualified for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW AR 190-56. This is a mission essential position.
  • Incumbent must maintain a High Standard of conduct at all times and will be continuously evaluated to determine if character, trustworthiness, and fitness is consistent with the high standards expected of the agency security professions.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
  • Must graduate from a USAMPS accredited academy within 12 months from entrance on duty (or receive a USAMPS waiver).
  • This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
  • Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
  • Incumbent must wear a uniform and comply with the Army Civilian Police Dress and maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene in accordance with AR 190-56. Incumbent must wear chemical protection equipment as needed.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
  • This position may require training and certification in the use of aerosol irritants.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • One year supervisory probationary period required.
