About the Position: The Joint Program Executive Office Armaments & Ammunition is committed to providing superior ammunition to the Soldier. The JPEO A&A is responsible for life-cycle acquisition management of all conventional ammunition, which includes integrating budgets, acquisition strategies, R&D and life-cycle management across all ammunition families.
This vacancy is a career ladder position, it may be filled at the GS-12 or GS-13
Duties
Serve as primary interface with the acquisition community for the Project/Program Manager.
Develop long-range acquisition plans to improve contractual approaches.
Manage proper employment of organizational policies, procedures and directives.
Oversee a full range of contract administrative functions required for an acquisition program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires occasional TDY.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- This position may require a one-year probationary period.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.

This vacancy is a career ladder position, it may be filled at the GS-12 or GS-13 level. Noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level GS-13 is authorized without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management.
To Qualify at the GS-12: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing and evaluating assigned procurement and business activities; 2) Formulating and establishing guidance on ways to improve the effectiveness of program; and 3) Overseeing contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. This is definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement:(Must provide SF-50)
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
To Qualify at the GS-13: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Supporting the development and execution of contracts to procure armament and ammunition systems for an acquisition program; 2) Providing expert advice and guidance to the customer for the development of procurement and business policy and guidance for the effective and timely implementation of programs; and 3) Formulating and establishing new and improved business procedures and techniques for contractual and other activities within the assigned area of responsibility. This is definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Time in Grade Requirement:(Must provide SF-50)
