You will serve as a CONGRESSIONAL TRAVEL COORDINATOR in the Department of the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA) of OFFLEGAFFAIRS WASHINGTON DC.
Duties
You will analyze and interpret Department of Navy and Department of Defense Travel policy in order to effectively plan and implement all aspects of the Congressional Travel Program.
You will plan, schedule, and arrange commercial airline reservations, military airlifts, seating assignment, hotel and car reservations via electronic databases.
You will prepare reports and correspondence pertaining to travel (e.g., travel orders, advance documentation, congressional and escort claim documents, funding documents for buses and luggage vans, invitational authorization letters).
You will collect, analyze, and extract trip planning information key to the formulation of logistical coordination through significant events, offer the maximum degree of service, and estimate the necessary funds to execute the trip properly.
You will budget specific amounts of money to escort officers based on anticipated expenses involved in the trip.
You will prepare a comprehensive study of and evaluate pertinent regulations, circulars, memoranda, policies, correspondence, files, and other records which will be of value to congressional travel.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience analyzing and interpreting travel regulations to plan and implement an organization's travel program. 2)Experience planning, scheduling, and arranging travel (e.g., commercial airline reservations, airlifts, rail, seating assignment, hotel, and car reservations) via automated electronic databases in support of an organization's travel program.
Experience preparing reports and correspondence in support of an organization's travel program (e.g., budget preparation, escort claim documents, funding documents).
Experience reviewing travel documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and to reconcile within cost estimates.
Experience communicating orally with high-level officials to provide logistical support and guidance in solving travel issues.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
