About the Position: This Airspace Systems Inspection Pilot is located at Air Traffic Services Command with duty location of Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Duties

Manage loading of aircraft to ensure that weight and balance limitations are not exceeded. Operate modified fixed wing (FW) aircrafts, such as JC-12s, Beech 350ER King Air. Perform flight checks to ensure correctness of repairs in accordance with policies and procedures. Provide night flying expertise to aid in the performance of night flights. Operate aircrafts within all operational, safety and regulatory limitations. Provide advice on development and review of terminal and enroute flight procedures Performs ground-based theodolite flight inspections Coordinate with the federal aviation administration (FAA) at the executive level to ensure flight safety matters are resolved for special operations aircraft operating nationwide. Manage system safety requirements for designing new or improved special operations aircraft. Prepare highly technical reports of flight characteristics.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires you to travel from the duty station up to 75% of the time.
• One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
• Must possess and maintain current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport, multi-engine airplane, and BE300 type ratings.
• Must possess or be eligible for a U.S. passport.
• Must possess and maintain satisfactory completion of an annual Aviation Proficiency and Readiness Test.
• Must be a Federal Aviation Administration trained and certified and current Airspace Systems Inspection Pilot or be able to attain certification/currency within 18 months
• Missions may include deployment to locations categorized as hostile environment (i.e., war zone, terrorist threat, etc.).
• Qualified fixed-wing pilot in Beechcraft/King Air 300/350ER with advanced AVIONICS.
• Position is subject to random drug testing.
