This position is located in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Compliance (CGF), Compliance and Governance (CG) organization of Compliance, Audit, and Risk Management (C), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). The purpose of this position is to serve as an Operations and Planning (O&P) Compliance Business Partner (CBP) and as a technical expert for O&P compliance oversight activities.

As a Compliance Specialist, you will:

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

  • Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period.
  • Selectee will be required to complete the Office of Government Ethics Standard of Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OFGE450e) within 30 days of employment and annually.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [enter grade] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience 1) evaluating compliance programs for power or related industry to ensure they are compliant with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) reliability requirements; and 2) Developing processes, policies, and internal controls to implement compliance, mitigate risks, and sustain operation to ensure reliable and secure operations for a power or related industry. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
