About the Position: This position located at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL), Office of Technical Directors in Vicksburg, MS.
Duties
Associate Technical Director (ATD) serves as assistant to the Technical Director (TD) leading ERDC in navigation research and development."
Assist in the development and/or generation and/or application of theories, principles, practical concepts, and processes related to: the physical sciences, geology, engineering and the other traditional science/engineering disciplines.
Assist with preparation of reports and technology-transfer products, including writing sections of some reports using writing skills developed through English composition or literature coursework or technical writing experience.
Ability to direct and manage aspects of projects and tests.
Development of physical science disciplines, advanced mathematics and critical inquiry and scientific methodology.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with other agencies.
Developing, marketing and managing Research and Development (R and D) programs.
Developing, marketing and managing reimbursable studies through the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL).
Assisting with ERDC leadership for the Navigation business line; managing relationships with principal sponsors.
Assist in managing and administering execution of work in the Civil Works Research and Development Area.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DB-3 (GS-11/12) grade level in the Federal service includes experience in includes Developing and/or coordinating with technical leads on various project plans such as: construction, information technology implementation, or research; Monitoring program and/or project execution for construction, information technology, and/or research efforts; and Assisting the development and/or monitoring contracting actions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9).
