This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Assets Forfeiture. As a Program Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing asset forfeiture activities throughout the Department. The incumbent is involved in a variety of analytical activities relating to the Department of the Treasury's Asset Forfeiture program.
Duties
As a Program Analyst, you will:
-Analyze forfeiture policies relating to equity requirements, official use of forfeited property, mitigation/remission guidelines, equitable sharing criteria and any other related topics for sufficiency, consistency, and compliance with Presidential and Departmental policy.
-Participate in and complete special projects relating to the asset forfeiture program.
-Review existing and proposed legislation and regulations regarding the asset forfeiture program and provide analysis or formal critiques of the effect of such legislation and regulations on program policies, standards and procedures.
-Conduct research or coordinate data collection, as requested, (in support of various Executive Office initiatives).
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS-13: To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience includes ALL the following:
- Evaluating documentation for consistency with policies, guidelines, directives, and procedures; AND
- Analyzing issues attending civil or criminal forfeitures that may include investigations leading to forfeiture, disposition of forfeited properties, and distribution of proceeds; AND
- Assisting in program planning and business process improvement or project management teams; AND
-Participating in teams to assist with conducting research or data collection and making recommendations based on research.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
