This position assists the Senior Counsel, Strategic Planning and Operations Group (SPOG), in developing and implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing the Legal Division's (Legal) operation efficiency and effectiveness, as well as strategic planning, business continuity planning, succession planning, and knowledge management initiatives.

Duties
Assist in the management of the Legal Intern and Honors Attorney Programs.
Assists Division leadership in the planning and carrying out of a wide range of analytical assignments to support strategic initiatives to include assisting in analyzing, reviewing, and planning complex staffing and legal operations activities to support effective business process measurement and management decision-making.
Performs technical quantitative or qualitative work in support of management analysis.
Assist the Senior Counsel in the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of the Legal Division's knowledge management program. Coordinates with Legal Division employees, managers, and executives and Corporate University to initiate the development of training, communication or other efforts to support Legal goals and initiatives, and to assess the effectiveness of these efforts.
Assist in development, implementation and oversight of the Division's succession planning efforts and workforce training program.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 12 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience managing or directing legal recruitment and lawyer development programs to include planning and executing strategies for recruitment; implementing legal personnel development plans to achieve organizational goals; and producing reports about recruitment and development for use by senior management.
