About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Science and Technology Directorate, A2AD Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Duties

Serves as an Electro-optical/Infrared (EO/IR) systems analyst in the S and TI Directorate. Applies technical knowledge and concepts to advance community understanding of a critical commodity area. Manages technical projects with the goal of answering difficult and complex intelligence problems. Works collaboratively across Directorates and outside Agencies on multi-faceted projects and assignments. Serves as Center representative to multiple working groups. Routinely briefs audiences of varying technical background and relays strategic, operations, and tactical impacts to decisionmakers and warfighters. Scientific and technical intelligence analysis requires incumbent to apply knowledge of collected intelligence data, scientific, engineering, or technical principles.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
