The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and administer the executive support functions of the Group Directorate. This position directs and manages executive and administrative support functions on behalf of the Group Commander and is responsible to ensure day-to-day operations are timely and comply with policies.
Duties
Serves as team lead and the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
Directly Administers programs, prepares informational briefings, and serves as the primary source of information.
Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring resource requirements.
Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization.
Assists in administrative activity requirements to posture unit readiness and deployment actions.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

A. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes providing management of unit administrative functions to include staff meetings, awards preparations, administrative training, and new employee orientation. Maintains, assists, and advises on programs to include manpower authorizations, Government Travel Card, Government Purchase Card, Automated Processing Equipment accounts, supply programs, and official order processing. Develops, establishes, and maintains administrative office procedures of various types to include managing staff actions, maintaining calendars and schedules, and automation software program oversight, in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and policies.

B. EDUCATION: Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR, LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws), or J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.

C. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combination of specialized experience as described in (A) above, and graduate level education described in (B) above (only graduate level education beyond (1) year is creditable) that equals 100% of the qualification requirements.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization and the ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.
2. Knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency deployment/mobilization concepts, principles, practices, procedures, regulations, and laws applicable to the full range of UDM management responsibilities.
3. Knowledge of structure, programs and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues.
4. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems.
5. Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and possess the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
6. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The employee works in an adequately lighted and ventilated office environment. Observes normal safety precautions.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
