Joining the Secret Service, Office of Enterprise Security, Security Management Division will allow you to perform the full range of responsibilities to include coordination, implementation, and oversight of security policies, programs, and standards to protect and safeguard U.S. Secret Service personnel, property, facilities, and information, and to oversee and support emergency preparedness, response planning, and continuity of operations (COOP).  For more information click here.

Duties

The selectee will serve as a Security Specialist (Regional Security Specialist) in the Washington Field Office but will report to the Security Management Division. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $117,962) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: Providing advice and guidance to stakeholders in resolving difficult and unique security problems/issues Conducting research, providing analysis and presenting findings and recommendations on subjects applicable to the Security Services Program to include administrative, information, operations, and/or physical security. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. New hires under this authority will be offered a 4-year term non-status appointment in the competitive service. Individuals appointed before December 31, 2024 may continue their employment until their not-to-exceed date is reached.
