Duties

- Support the NIST DEIO Director in advancing NIST's internal-facing DEIA efforts - pursuant to Executive Order on Diversity Equity Inclusion Accessibility in the Federal Workforce (E.O. 14035) - through a combination of project management, planning, organizational skills, and high-level administrative functions, resulting in defined end-point work products. - Assist the DEIO director in implementing the NIST DEIA vision statement to ensure branding uniformity across the enterprise. - Prepare briefing documents and PowerPoint presentations for DEIO Director on DEIA-related topics. - Monitor resulting activity from meeting decisions & assignments to brief the DEIO Director and other team members. - Collaborate with the DEIO Data scientist to develop, monitor, and report on DEIA-related metrics. - Support the implementation of the NIST DEIA Strategic Plan by monitoring, tracking the deliverables noted in the Plan. - Partner with DEIO Data Scientist to respond to data calls and reporting requirements as directed by the DEIO Director. - Support the NIST DEIO Director in preparation for and during the DEIA Executive Council, Community of Practice, and Implementation Team Meetings by developing meeting agendas and presentation materials. - Attend DEIA-related internal and external meetings as directed by the DEIO Director. - Assist the DEIO Director in developing a DEIO Communication Strategy. - Prepare DEIO communication deliverables and coordinate with Public Affairs Office (PAO) to produce work products such as monthly newsletters, cultural observance communications and announcements, DEI-related policies, plans, and/or priorities for publication and promotion. - Serve as liaison between the Department and Agency on DEIA-related tasks and/or tasks as directed by the DEIO Director. - Support the DEIO Director in department, agency-wide, or interagency DEIA-focused working groups and/or teams. - Engage with VEOs (Voluntary Employee Organizations) and (Employee Resource Groups) and coordinate the programmatic and planning needs with the DEIO. - Provide support on special projects and initiatives as directed by the DEIO Directed. - Partners with OISM and OHRM to ensure the coordination and execution of accessibility needs across the agency. - Recommend changes and improvements to streamline processes to improve employee productivity while centering equity and justice in all projects and processes. - Collaborate with DEIO Data Scientist to prepare talking points for the DEIO Director. - Plan and organize DEIO cultural observance events. - Identify and advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility training and awareness opportunities, as well as agency training needs.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST) grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience supporting the NIST DEIO Director in advancing NIST's internal-facing DEIA efforts - pursuant to the Executive Order on Diversity Equity Inclusion Accessibility in the Federal Workforce (E.O. 14035) - through a combination of project management, planning, organizational skills, and high-level administrative functions, resulting in defined end-point work products. Supporting the implementation of the NIST DEIA Strategic Plan by monitoring, tracking the deliverables noted in the Plan, responding to data calls and reporting requirements as directed by the DEIO Director, plan and organize DEIO cultural observance events and support the NIST DEIO Director in preparation for and during the DEIA Executive Council, DEIA Community of Practice, and DEIA Implementation Team Meetings by developing meeting agendas and presentation materials. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
