Duties
You will serve as an IT Specialist (NETWORK) in the NC3 Support Division (OPS2), Operations Department (OPS), Office of the Commanding Officer at Naval Network Warfare Command (NAVNETWARCOM).
You will provide guidance and direction as part of the NAVNETWARCOM Global Network Operations Security Center (GNOSC) 24/7 Cyber Security watch operations.
You will utilize comprehensive knowledge of entire Cyber Threat Operations to track ongoing cyber threats directed against Navy Networks.
You will brief daily situational awareness of the Nuclear Command and Control (NC3) system as to Navy to NE tops leadership.
You will provide guidance, support, and technical expertise on NC3 hardware/software required to bring systems to regulatory compliance.
You will provide support to GNOSC operations, consistent with IT service management processes, operational information requirements, requests for information, and other products, documents and services tasked by the Battle Watch Captain.
You will operate and maintain NC3 incident recording and ticketing databases; and incorporate new data flows, queries, reports, and correlation analysis for patterns of abuse and operational inefficiencies.
You will modify and/or provide recommendations to existing software security tools as needed, and identify requirements for future security tools.
You will be responsible for ensuring effective information security, system usability, and productivity while minimizing the impact on operations and resources.
You will be responsible for meeting reporting, training, and other office administrative requirements such as developing special reports, briefings, naval message traffic and white papers.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 461 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Experience demonstrating this competency include: Assisting in performing compliance verification for determining information assurance posture.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing clear and concise reports, briefs and recommendations suitable for presentation to senior leadership.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying security breaches and taking appropriate action to identify and thwart intruders.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as:
-Experience identifying security risks and determining solutions to integrate into enterprise infrastructure.
-Experience applying methods and approaches for sharing information through the use of IT networks, applications, and systems.
-Experience analyzing, evaluating, and advising on communication network matters concerning system security.
-Experience utilizing IT security principles and methods such as commercial system security products, technical documentation methods and performance management methods.
