About the Position: The position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA. Fort Belvoir is approximately 15 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., five miles from Alexandria, VA and next door to the community of Mount Vernon, VA. It is within easy driving distance of Washington, D.C., national historical sites and parks
Duties
Manages the Military Personnel Information Management/Records Program of the Military Personnel System by servicing as custodian of the military personnel records jacket and allied documents.
Monitors and manages the officer and enlisted evaluation functions of the military personnel system for the USAG Fort Belvoir and its tenant organizations.
Identifies problems and recommends solutions to all actions pertaining to military personnel.
Provides guidance and assistance to military personnel, family members, and operating officials at local and higher headquarters on the full spectrum of military personnel functions and management.
Establishes/maintains control of HQDA selection boards including promotion, school, selective continuation, command, reduction-in-force, Regular Army selection, and Voluntary Indefinite boards for USAG Fort Belvoir and its tenant organizations.
Oversees the in and out processed of all soldiers to and from the installation.
Monitors and manages the Department of the Army Military Awards Program for USAG Fort Belvoir and its tenant organizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing at least one of the military personnel services programs such as Military Personnel Records, Evaluations, Soldier Actions, Promotions, Personnel Processing (In/Out-processing), Awards, Soldier Readiness Processing, ID Cards, and other military personnel programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
