About the Position: Serves as the Transition Services Manager on an Installation Management Command (IMCOM) installation to ensure timely and efficient delivery of SFL-TAP services to transitioners, separating/retiring Soldiers, DA Civilians and their family members. Plans, directs, and implements components of the installation's SFL-TAP.
Duties
Serve as the Transition Services Manager (TSM) on an installation to ensure timely and efficient delivery of Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) services to transitioners.
Implements Army Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) policies and procedures for local installation use.
Ensures delivery of core services providing transition and employment assistance to military personnel and their families.
Serves as the primary installation advisor for all Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) related issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes experience providing transition assistance to service members departing military service, veterans, and family members; analyzing data to evaluate transitional program services; coordinating workshops/seminars to promote transitional programs; and using automated systems to prepare reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
