This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Leadership Development Center, New London, CT.
Duties
If selected you will serve as an Administrative office assistant providing secretarial and office management support to the Leadership and Organizational Performance Department Head and staff.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience Statement : To qualify for this position, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis:
Assisting with the coordination of program data tracking and the coordination of various duties assigned to organization staff;
Establishing and maintaining electronic records and filing system to control location, arrangement and use of active records and files;
Maintaining supervisors calendar; distributing mail organize data into graph; spreadsheets, or other mediums of representation; prepares travel orders, maintains and organize office files and other materials;
Preparing correspondence, reports, graphs/charts, forms, and other office support materials;
Scheduling various meetings and following up on assigned actions; and
Editing material for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clarity of expression.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
In addition to meeting experience requirements, applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute.
