This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Works in conjunction with Joint Chiefs of Staff in planning, coordinating, monitoring, and advising on DoD enterprise-wide Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear defense, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Pandemic Influenza and Infectious Disease related strategy, policy, plans, doctrine, and capability requirements.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY CONSEQUENCE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (CBRNE) at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serve as the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosives (CBRNE) Branch Chief, and act with full authority regarding all phases of work direction, oversight, and delegated authority over Action Officers.
Assist in the development of the Homeland Defense Division objectives and goals that best support the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), and exercises authority to implement procedural and policy determinations.
Interpret, analyze, and evaluate federal statutes, executive orders, presidential directives, new or modified legislation, DoD policies, procedures, and publications, Combatant Command plans, and Interagency agreements and plans to ensure compliance in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Monitor daily operations, events and threats and independently formulate reviews and present operational plans, military courses of action and briefings to the Joint Staff, CJCS, Offices of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Secretary of Defense (SecDef), National Security Council Staff (NSCS), President of the United States (POTUS), and Congressional staffs relating to CBRNE consequence management (CM) and CWMD issues.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Leads, manages, trains, and develops Action Officers to formulate, coordinate, and defend agency priorities across Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosives (CBRNE), Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), and Pandemic Influenza and Infectious Disease (PI&ID) related programs and activities;
Monitor daily operations, events and threats and independently formulates reviews and presents operational plans, courses of action and briefings to an agency;
Interpret, analyze, and evaluate statutes, executive orders, presidential directives, policies, procedures and publications.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
