About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Research and Development Center (ERDC), Construction Engineering and Research Laboratory (CERL), OFFICE OF TECHNICAL DIRECTORS.

Duties

As an Associate Technical Director, provide technical support and strategic planning activities to a multidisciplinary research and development team executing various congressional program. Support the organization and administration by acting as a conduit between research groups to focus program development efforts. Coordinate proposal calls, request for information, and/or program coordination. Provide research and development in various areas of geospatial tools and analysis, training lands and ranges, threatened and endangered species, cultural heritage, and/or the human domain. Coordination across the ERDC enterprise, engagement with key stakeholders at higher headquarters, and alignment of CERL capabilities and research with emerging requirements. Develop the organizations strategy to respond to emerging executive actions and agency policy to address advanced weapons systems and their training ranges and lands needs and impacts. Support the development and strengthening of ERDC relationships across the geospatial research and engineering community.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service. (DB-03 or GS-11) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementProblem SolvingResearch Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent DB-03 (GS-11).
