About the Position: Serves as senior Army Nuclear Strategy Analyst in support of the Director, U.S. Army Nuclear and Countering WMD Agency (USANCA) and Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) for Strategy, Policy and Operations, G-3/5/7.
Duties
Analyze, evaluate and advise on nuclear strategy, policy, strategic and operational plans and operations, and doctrinal advisor to the Director of USANCA, the HQDA Deputy DCS G-3/5, the HQDA DCS G-3/5/7 and the rest of the Army Staff (ARSTAF).
Coordinate and negotiate proposed changes with counterparts in other military services, the Joint Staff and OSD.
Plans, directs and advises on the execution of the work and sets priorities.
Researching, analyzing, evaluating and advising senior Army leaders to ensure a high level of effectiveness of the Army's nuclear plans and operational research and development programs by communicating Joint Force and Army Command needs.
Establishes the scope and objectives of the study, directs the analysis, and draws conclusions and recommendations from study results.
Develops recommendations that impact Army and Joint organization, strategy, plans, materiel development and formulation of doctrine for nuclear operations.
Formulates novel methods of analysis and complex plans for conducting the studies that have constantly evolving requirements.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: analyzing, evaluating and advising on nuclear strategy, policy, strategic and operational plans regarding U.S. nuclear enterprise and the U.S Nuclear Stockpile; providing advice on major national and theater level challenges pertaining to nuclear deterrence; preparing position papers and presenting and defending recommendations at highest levels; leading specialized teams and providing training, education and operational/crisis support to commands. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
