About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Vicksburg, MS. Serves as the Liaison Officer (LNO) to the Deputy Secretary of the Army for Research and Technology (DASA-RT) and the focal point for ERDC-DASA-RT science and technology engagements Interdisciplinary position which may be filled under any of the listed Job Family Series.
Duties
Serves as the Liaison Officer (LNO) to the Deputy Secretary of the Army for Research and Technology (DASA-RT) and the focal point for ERDC-DASA-RT science and technology engagements.
Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on ERDC research and development-related technical activities and strategic initiatives
Interface and coordinate with ERDC and DASA-RT organizational elements regarding capability gaps, needs, and projects.
Promote linkage and alignment of ERDC's unique capabilities
Organize key visits and meetings with DASA-RT partners.
Applies knowledge of all ERDC mission areas to analyze technical activities, situations, and select courses of action
Communicates in writing and in person with General Officers and members of the Senior Executive Service.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment subject to a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Pre-employment and random drug testing may be required.
- Approximately 25% temporary duty travel may be required to meet mission requirement.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the DB-04 (GS-14) or above grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to better identify potential research capability gaps; 2) Provide continuous support in the strategic alignment and execution.

This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the DB-05 (equivalent to GS-15) grade level. In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, Laboratory Demonstration Project employees must have a current average performance score of at least 2.5 or equivalent (fully successful rating) for promotion consideration.
