This position is located in the Small Business Administration, OPPCFO/Office of Financial Operations Management in Denver, CO. The incumbent examines, verifies, and analyzes electronic accounting transaction data relating to all loan and/or administrative programs; and works with accountants in the development, installation, operation and maintenance of accounting systems, procedures and practices.
Duties
Provides analysis to management and center directors as to the effectiveness and efficiency of internal customer use of financial systems.
Uses analytic methods and techniques to evaluate and determine the causes of discrepancies and ensure corrective actions between transaction details and summary data are completed prior to posting to the agency accounting system.
Analyzing the proper use of budget organization codes to denote how transactions are to be applied in the agency accounting and administrative systems.
Provides customer service to internal and external customers.
Requirements

- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-9: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: reviewing and processing payment collections to loans; assisting internal customers with inquiries regarding the use and functionality of financial and administrative systems; assisting customers with inquiries about account and payment status; researching and interpreting regulations and legislation; and performing internal control reviews.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

GS-9: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or LL.B. or J.D., if related
Combination of Experience and Education: For example, an applicant who has 1.0 full year of Masters level education (i.e. 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.
