You will serve as a DEPUTY INSPECTOR GENERAL in the OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will oversee the planning and execution of Inspector General inquiries, analysis, investigations, and inspections. You will be responsible for the quality control of inspection reports, investigations, and other correspondence released by the Inspector General. You will provide oversight and guidance for general, special, and follow-up inspections on systems, functions, and activities. You will receive and analyze incoming complaints to determine the urgency and priority of the complaint and the proper course of action.

Requirements

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing general, special, and follow-up inspections of command activities; 2) Advising and overseeing collection, organization and review of pertinent data to determine major problems; 3) Reviewing inspection or audit reports, applicable rules, regulations, procedures, and policy statements, mission and organizational materials concerning functions to be inspected and related areas; 4) Developing inspection plans outlining objectives, general approaches, and time frames; and 5) Compiling inspection findings into comprehensive reports and presenting reports to all management levels.
