You will serve as an Assistant Inspector General in the Office of the Inspector General (IG) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
Duties
You will conduct administrative investigations and inspections.
You will respond to complaints, requests for information, and requests for help presented or referred to the Inspector General.
You will assist with maintaining the system of record/database for tracking cases and archiving records.
You will systematically research, collect, organize, review and analyze information both before the inspection begins and throughout the entire inspection process.
You will write clear, concise and coherent inspection reports.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Department of Defense, Inspector General's Joint Inspector General Certification Course within 120 days of hiring.
- Temporary appointments may be extended up to 3 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with experience in investigative, inspection, and evaluative methods/techniques. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Planning, coordinating, and conducting administrative investigations and inquiries into allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, and/or other violations of law; 2) Assisting with gathering and evaluating evidence, identifying, and interviewing witnesses; 3) Analyzing trends to identify programs, systems or organizational units of concern which may benefit from a future inspection; 4) Conducting informal fact-finding process used to address or respond to a complaint involving a request for help, information, or issues; 5) Formulate detailed reports of findings, conclusions, and recommendations to present to management.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of LL.M., if related to this position being filled
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
