This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Office of Intelligence and Analysis. As an Information Security Specialist, the primary purpose is to function as the technical authority on Information Security policy and serve as the focal point for the development, management, and promulgation of the Department's Information Security program under the direction of the Chief, Policy and Compliance, Office of Security Programs.
Duties
Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.
As an Information Security Specialist, you will:
- Manage all aspects of policy development, oversight, and program assessment.
- Make recommendations concerning major Treasury Information Security projects and incorporate national level regulations in Treasury standards, guidelines, and policies.
- Interact with Bureau and interagency peers to ensure successful implementation of national and departmental policy.
- Represent Treasury in working groups, committees, and forums relating to Information Security policy.- Identify security education and training requirements and lead special studies that evaluate the impact, value, and practicality of training tools and methods.
- Conduct oversight of Treasury's Original Classification Authority program, Mandatory Declassification Review program, and security classification guide development
-Carry out specific responsibilities assigned by the Chief, Policy and Compliance and Provide advice and assistance to the Executive Director, Office of Security Programs as assigned.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes demonstrated, working experience in ALL of the following:
-Interpreting, establishing and promoting the standardization of security policies and regulations; AND
-Providing guidance to other Information, Physical, or Industrial Security specialists; AND
-Monitoring or conducting oversight for information security program implementation; AND
-Performing information security program surveys, classification reviews, security incident reports, self-inspections, and compliance reviews in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, directives; AND
-Using a variety of electronic media to prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials that explain issues relating to an information security program.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes demonstrated, working experience in ALL of the following:
-Interpreting and promulgating the standardization of security policies and regulations; AND
-Providing guidance to junior personnel, Information, Physical, or Industrial Security Specialists; AND
-Conducting information security surveys, classification reviews, self-inspections or compliance reviews in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, directives; AND
-Using a variety of electronic media to prepare reports, presentations, or briefing materials that supplement an information security program.
