This is a Summer Student Intern appointment NTE 3 Months in the Pathways Program. Summer Internship may be extended. Upon successful completion of the Pathways Internship Program requirements in accordance with 5 CFR 362.204 (hours, performance, educational requirements, training completion, etc.) interns may be non-competitively converted to a term, career conditional or career appointment within 120 days to a position and grade deemed qualified.
Duties
This internship position is with the Technical Assistance division in DFC's Office of Development Policy (ODP). Working with deal teams, ODP reviews all potential investments for environmental and social risks, assesses the expected impact of each investment, monitors projects throughout implementation to assess their impacts and report on lessons learned, and administers DFC's Technical Assistance program.
Assists with the review of documentation concerning potential or existing DFC technical assistance activities in support of the due diligence efforts of ODP's Technical Assistance Division.
Assists with monitoring the performance of DFC technical assistance activities through tasks such as analyzing technical assistance deliverables provided by Grantees; drafting e-mails to Grantees concerning any deficiencies in those deliverables; and participating in monitoring calls with Grantees.
Collects and analyzes information on a wide variety of issues concerning potential technical assistance activities, potentially including information concerning developments in specific business sectors and specific emerging markets.
Undertakes research as requested, potentially including assistance with preparation of portfolio analyses designed to determine the impact of technical assistance activities.

- Salary listed is based on a range from lowest to highest and will be adjusted depending on location.
- Salary is based on being full-time, if part-time is requested then the salary will adjusted to hourly.

You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
A. Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with either (1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; (2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for all required courses completed in a qualifying major field of study at either the time of application or during the last two years of your undergraduate curriculum; (3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or a major subdivision of the college; or, (4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies; OR
B. One full year of graduate level education in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in one of the following related fields International Development, International Business, Finance, or a closely related field.. The education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position.

PASS/FAIL COURSES:
If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.
GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
