Upon successful completion of the Pathways Internship Program requirements in accordance with 5 CFR 362.204 (hours, performance, educational requirements, training completion, etc.) interns may be non-competitively converted to a term, career conditional or career appointment within 120 days to a position and grade deemed qualified.

Duties

This internship position is with the Development Impact division of DFC's Office of Development Policy (ODP). Working with deal teams, ODP reviews all potential investments for environmental and social risks, assesses the expected impact of each investment, monitors projects throughout implementation to assess their impacts and report on lessons learned, and administers DFC's Technical Assistance program. Reviews documentation on potential or existing DFC transactions in support of the due diligence efforts of ODP's Development Impact division. Documentation may cover diverse aspects of a transaction such as business plans, financing structure, and development impact projections, including gender-related impacts. Identifies, collects, and provides in-depth analysis of relevant information concerning the potential positive and negative impacts of investments, as well as possible capital mobilization. May assist analysts in drafting policy clearances to explain and document an investment's potential development impact. Please Note: This is not a Bargaining unit position.

• Salary listed is based on a range from lowest to highest and will be adjusted depending on location.
• Salary is based on being full-time, if part-time is requested then the salary will adjusted to hourly.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements at the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements: A. Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with either (1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; (2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for all required courses completed in a qualifying major field of study at either the time of application or during the last two years of your undergraduate curriculum; (3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or a major subdivision of the college; or, (4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies; OR B. One full year of graduate level education in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in one of the following related fields International Development, International Business, Finance, or a closely related field.. The education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
