About the Position: This is a Plans Analyst position with US Army Training and Doctrine Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7/9 at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.
Duties
Conduct operational or strategic planning with a primary focus on long range goals and objectives and associated essential tasks required to execute major and campaign objectives.
Serve on study teams and responds to a variety of quick turnaround point papers, read ahead, and briefings to support special projects and taskers.
Research and prepare briefings for 4 Star leadership to strategically communicate current and future training and leader development themes and messages and plan synthesis to senior Army leadership.
Develop intermediate objectives and associated essential tasks required to execute major Army Plans and campaign objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- May be required to complete a one- year probationary period if not previously completed
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time away from the normal duty station.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: ) Generating briefings and orders to communicate the organizations current and/or future plans for operations in a very large and diverse organization; 2) coordinating with inter-agency partners in order to carry out and assess agency specific operational plans; AND 3) completing assigned planning tasks for a 4 Star Headquarters organization in a timely manner This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS- 11.
