Duties
As a Public Health Advisor you will:
Serve as a senior public health advisor and management coordinator of national and international public health program activities.
Identify and analyze issues and their impact on public health policies as they relate to programs.
Lead the design, implementation, and analysis of significant collaborative studies with national or international policy or program implications.
Act as liaison with policy-level officials to ensure respective views and interests are promoted with respect to current and emerging policy issues, and that views are taken into consideration in policy development and implementation.
Review and assess the effectiveness of current public health policies and determine where new or changed policies are required to effectively execute public health programs, missions, and functions.
Compare and contrast current and proposed policies to formulate strategies for addressing conflicting or duplicate policies across CGH.
Provide expert-quality formal and informal reports that address vital issues, multi functional study and analytical approaches, expert-level findings, and cogent, substantive recommendations that are primarily used as the basis for key executive-level management decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which must include the following experience: experience developing, overseeing, managing and evaluating the content of new or modified legislation for the impact on existing public health program policies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
