Duties

The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). For more information please see: AcqDemo This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path. This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for serving as Cross Domain Solutions Element (CDSE) Lead and expert technical advisor on communication systems required for sensitive and classified material Cross Domain Solutions (CDS). As a IT Specialist (Security) at the NH-2210-4 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides expert advice and guidance to customers in developing applicable Criss Domain Validation and Approval Requests (CDVAR), Data Owner's Guidance (DOG), Cross Domain Appendices (CDA), topology diagrams, etc. Board (CDTAB) and Defense Information Assurance Security Accreditation Working Group (DSAWG). Coordinates approval to connect CDSs for Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) Events, tests/exercises, and real-world operations. Coordinates with the Radiant Mercury Program Office (RMPO) to schedule/fund all contractor Engineering Support and Independent Validation and Verification efforts; negotiates and executes associated contracting/funding actions. Represents the agency at various conferences, workshops, and meetings; serves as the agency interface with the unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO), Defense IA/Security Accreditation Working Group (DSAWG) Chair, and Service Reps. Develops policies, procedures, and requirements.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Investigation (TS/SCI) clearance

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Experience in Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) to provide technical advice and assistance to customers and senior managers and to determine CDS requirements for the Agency. Experience with Information Assurance/Cybersecurity principles, statutes, regulations, directives, and policies applicable to Cross Domain Solutions. Develop CDS cost estimates for hardware, software, and support services. Conduct in-depth analysis of CDS problems and develop solutions. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
