The primary purpose of this position, COMPOSITE/PLASTIC FABRICATION INSPECTOR, WG-4352-11, is to accomplish the inspection of repairs made to randomes, towers, antennas and pedestals associated with communication and radar type equipment and their systems at worldwide Air Force and other federal agency locations.
Duties
Inspect the work accomplished on a variety of radome and tower structures.
Analyze and isolate acute and chronic radome, antenna, and pedestal maintenance problems.
Perform contractor assistance visits as requested to ensure contractor performance is in compliance with Air Force specifications.
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Maintain records and document actions.

- PHYSICAL: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL.
- May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, or rotating shifts.
- May be required to travel (TDY) any place, any time, and in any manner to support the unit's mission, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, flight test operation.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4300 Pliable Materials Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently lifts and carries, unassisted, items weighing up to 25 pounds. Sometimes required to lift and carry items weighing more than 25 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. Climbing and working in high places may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Assignments are accomplished both in shop and on-site. Incumbent is exposed to dangers from heights, electrical shock, cold, heat, dust, toxic chemicals, scrapes, burns and cuts or falls, etc. Incumbent maybe required to perform inspections while standing, bending, climbing on ladders, or working from cherry pickers - or similar devices. Incumbent is expected to follow all safety and security regulations and be aware at all times of general surroundings.
