About the Position: Position is located in Arlington, VA and is filled with a career civil service employee who reports directly to the Office of the Secretary of the Army (SA), Under Secretary of the Army (USA), or Deputy Under Secretary of the Army (DUSA).
Duties
Develop strategic communication initiatives to accomplish messaging goals and objectives.
Initiate all new policies/procedures to unite the responsibilities of the Secretary of the Army (SA) and Under Secretary of the Army (USA) offices.
Utilize personal and professional judgment to execute a full range of projects/programs.
Plan presentations/briefings to report to vital Army staff and/or committees.
Utilize technical writing on briefing and/or papers regarding vision and strategic guidance on a variety of topics.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret – Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing new policy, procedures, and/or practices to unite responsibilities of multiple offices; 2) developing strategic communications initiatives to accomplish organizational messaging and effects-based goals and objectives; 3) identifying and understanding the interrelationships between organizational functions, program goals, and financial resources; and 4) evaluating goals and objectives of program requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
