About the Position: Perform strategic level analysis and staff work on legislative and executive branch initiatives, congressional correspondence, congressional hearings, Senate confirmations, Congressional briefings, and internal communications. The position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Duties

Facilitate the development, staffing and submission of agency views on proposed or pending legislation, legislative actions, and/or executive agency actions. Ensure legislative proposals support ongoing initiatives, contain all required information, are in proper format, fully staffed and coordinated, properly approved by leadership and submitted by established suspense dates. Perform analysis of ongoing legislative initiatives. Provide timely and accurate information to leadership and staff on requirements for the submission, staffing and clearance of legislative proposals. Advise staff principals concerning legislative initiatives and messages. Coordinate with strategic working groups and "tiger teams" to ensure that legislative equities are properly addressed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: PartneringTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
