You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools (MCCSSS), Ground Supply School (GSS) TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND of the U.S. MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will manage all aspects of education and training processes including administrative policies and procedures, curricula, instructional methods and techniques, adequacy and use of training aids and devices, facilities, equipment, and testing. You will plan and coordinate studies to evaluate the overall effectiveness and efficiency of training programs. You will serve as chairman or member of instructor boards, working groups, curricula surveys, and committees on training and education programs and plans. You will assist in the preparation of manuals, design documentation, technical reports, system updates, and integration of course materials for all online training simulation systems. You will monitor online training simulation systems by installing and maintaining hardware, software, and data upgrades and provide troubleshooting assistance. You will advise key officials, members of boards and committees, and military and civilian program managers on all aspects of training program requirements. You will develop innovative and effective methods for training program improvements and stay abreast of current learning initiatives within government and private sector.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • You will be required to maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require recalled to duty.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Guide, direct, and coordinate work teams of subject matter experts on interactive and distance training and education related programs; develop instructions and procedures to develop revisions, additions, or deletions in curricula to ensure compliance; and briefing management on matters related to design, delivery and evaluation of instruction of online simulation systems.
