About the Position: Personally performs, or leads others in the performance of a full range of field engineering functions associated with assigned projects at Resident or Project Office level. Applies practical knowledge of engineering methods and techniques as they relate to construction. Maintains job-site surveillance over assigned construction contracts for complex Civil Works and/or Military Construction and/or Support For Others projects of various durations.

Duties

Performs and/or directs the full range of field engineering functions associated with assigned projects. Performs biddability, constructability, operability (BCO) reviews of plans and specifications. Participates in or conducts site showings and pre-construction conferences. Makes recommendations and prepares documents for signature by the Authorized Representative of the Contracting Officer. Ensures strict adherence to safety provisions of the contract.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
