About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency Puget Sound Market, Army Medical Center Madigan, Information Management located at Joint Base Lewis -McChord. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) concerning system security. Provide planning and scheduling of the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software. Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Provides technical assistance to local functional users to minimize operational disruptions. Provide formal or informal training so that users understand the relationships of the system and are able to work the systems without undue interruption. Test and analyze computer malfunctions to resolve physical operating problems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Position requires satisfactory completion - Information Assurance (IA) Level II training and be certified or recertified within six months of being assigned per DoD Publication 8570.01-M, dated 19 December 2005 incorporating Change 1, 15 May 2008
  • Position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination
  • Position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. And Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in federal service having demonstrated experience assisting in the planning and delivery of a full range of IT customer support services to the organization; installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting hardware and software components; participate in presenting IT related training and assistance to customers; respond to routine IT related customer requests; or maintain IT problem tracking and resolution databases. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, two full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. or LL.B. or J.D.(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Specialized Experience : To combine education and experience, determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
