About the Position: Serves as the Hydraulic and Hydrologic (H&H) Regional Technical Specialist (RTS), within Mississippi Valley Division (MVD) and other Divisions/Districts. The RTS duties will be performed at least 25% of the time. If selected from within MVD, these duties will be added to your existing position description.
This position can be located at any of the 6 MVD District Offices.
Duties
Coordinate hydrologic-hydraulic efforts related to one or two dimensional hydraulic numerical modeling.
Create hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations including breach modeling for design storms and floods, outlet works and spillway designs.
Prepare various technical hydrology and hydraulic reports related to the civil works program including reconnaissance, survey reviews and flood plain information reports.
Coordinate technical matters and problems encountered with Architect-Engineer (A-E) representatives.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Performing hydraulic designs and analyses that require the use of one or two dimensional numerical models; Conducting hydrologic-hydraulic engineering studies, investigations and/or analyses and Providing technical expertise for the development and/or implementation of methodology to support the analysis, design, technical review and construction of a diverse range of projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
