THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN Joint Forces HQ TAG, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number T5047P01. Duties

Serves as principal advisor to the Adjutant General and manages the Equal Employment Opportunity program to include Special Emphasis Programs, the Affirmative Employment Plan, Alternate Dispute Resolution, and Complaints Processing System. Together with the J1, (Director of Manpower and Personnel) formulates policies designed to prohibit discrimination due to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age and disability. In conjunction with the State HR/EO and MEO Officers, coordinates and assists in the development of ARNG EO and ANG MEO military programs and affirmative action plans. Requirements

  • Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
  • The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-11, that demonstrates the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks) is not creditable. Trades or crafts experience appropriate to the position to be filled may be creditable for some positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting advanced concepts, principles, and theories of Equal Employment Opportunity to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements. Experience assisting in the development of Equal Employment Opportunity policies and procedures. Experience advising management on Equal Employment Opportunity principles and practices. Must have 1 year specialized experience must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade.
